2026 Course Routes
We have exciting new route additions and direction changes coming to KowTown in 2026. Our course designers are hard at work on course designs that will bring more epic views, some new challenges and a bit more FUN. The calf will not be our shortest option once the team is done, they are also working on a 14-mile option new to gravel riding. Part of this operation is conducted on Public Lands under special permit from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. We are working closely with our local office to finalize course routes and permitting. All routes are subject to change but will be communicated in a timely manner.

To amp up the fun for 2026, we’ve made some exciting course changes. Bull riders will once again tackle the Gun Sight/Antelope loop clockwise, and for those craving a gravel race challenge, the 3-mile private ranch section is back—this time in reverse. Riders will climb Black Mountain and descend through the ranch, where the crew has been hard at work making the descent even more enjoyable. After that relaxing downhill, the course climbs Grouse Mountain for a tough ascent followed by some thrilling descents. A lollipop loop on Grouse Mountain leads to Highway 40 for a short shoulder ride, then onto the Sulphur Gulch double track, back to County Road 22 for some smooth champagne gravel, and then County Road 2’s lightning-fast pavement to the finish line for food and fun. This private section is exclusive to KowTown and only open on race day—experiences you’ll only find here: KowTown, Untapped and Untamed.
E-bikes are not allowed on this course.

Our mid-length course delivers a wild, bucking bronco of an adventure! Like last year, the key difference between the Bull and Cow routes is the 2,500-foot climb up Grouse Mountain and the Gun Sight/Antelope loop—both skipped by the middle course. For 2026, we’ve switched things up with a few changes in direction and layout. Racers will tackle the rolling County Road 23 Whoopty Whoops, the tough 1,900-foot climb up Black Mountain, and enjoy the ranch section the fun way—downhill. The three-mile private ranch stretch returns, now run in reverse. The Cow course turns right where the Bull veers left, heading to Highway 40 for a quick hop to the Sulphur Gulch two-track, featuring a short climb and descent back to County Road 22, then a fun final 10 miles to the finish line for food, music, and well-earned rest. This private section is exclusive to KowTown and only open on race day, with the Cow course showcasing stunning scenery, waterfront views, and our raw, untamed gravel.

The Cow Dog is the newest addition to the Kowtown family, we just couldn’t resist a new puppy! Our Goal is to provide a distance for everybody in the family. This is our shortest course welcomes all to experience Kremmling’s superior gravel. Don’t be fooled by the length, our cow dog will challenge the legs and lungs but provides a fast and fun ride back to the finish on some pavement. This is a perfect course for the gravel curious and those who want a shorter distance and time commitment - whether you’re out to win or just join in on the fun.
E-bikes are not allowed on this course.
